In the grass flats of the Manatee River or Sarasota Bay to understand the complex interdependence of life in the oceans. We will catch and release bay inhabitants after we identify them. Read more

In the calm, clear waters of the Gulf of Mexico we will observe the shells that we find. We will catch and release them after we identify them. Anna Maria Island.

On the North end of Anna Maria Island is a colony of nesting shorebirds including Black Skimmers, Least Terns and Snowy Plovers. We'll bring a scope and watch the babies!

Saturday June 26, 9am-noon North Water Tower Park.
Great Air Potato Round-up!
Participants will meet at Water Tower Park in Sarasota located on 47th Street between US 41 (N. Tamiami Trail) and Old Bradenton Road. Participants will work in teams to see who can get the most air potato bagged and out of the park. Prizes will be awarded for the team that gets the most potatoes, the biggest potato and the smallest potato (because even the smallest ones can sprout).
