We tell the Florida story...

About Us:
Established in 1999, Around the Bend Nature & Discovery Tours specializes in youth education about the ecosystems of Southwest Florida.  Our work encourages greater appreciation of Florida’s rich history and conservation of Florida’s wild lands for future generations of people, native plants, and animals.

What we do:
We host school year and summer camp field trips for public, private, and home school groups. We teach the real Florida story to over 9,500 school children annually; serving Sarasote and Manatee Counties.

Locations include:
Emerson Point Preserve, Big Water Land Trust, The Celery Fields, and Ken Thompson Park.

How it works:
We meet you onsite with guides and equiptment (dip nets, binoculars, native american tools).
Bring your own water, hats, sunscreen, and other comfort items.
*For dip netting, wear water shoes and bottoms that can get wet.

Our Mission
To give a sense of Florida as “home,”
by telling th
e stories of the land
and teaching the science of sustainability.
